Origin

How did the Tribe come about?

Being in tribe, and closely associated with a thriving community, is nothing new! Supportive circles of friends and family are a necessary ingredient to:

  • Raise beautiful, happy, and healthy children
  • Live in harmony with your closest companions – and I don’t mean the dog!
  • Integrate new knowledge and insight into birth’s potential
  • Easily identify like -minds and hearts.

Shaina Marie Levee is the visionary behind Birth Love Tribe. The thought crystallized in the midst of a trying time in her life, where she felt overcome by obstacles and obscuration. In particular, she deeply questioned her fertility and its place and meaning in our world. In an effort to come to a greater understanding, Shaina trained as a birth doula to complement her Masters in Psychology education. Inquiring into the nature of fertility turned out to produce both personal and professional fruit. Fruit ripe for sharing!

Once she developed Birth Love Tribe, Shaina brought on her friend and colleague in birth work, Julia Alter, LICSW. Julia brings a background of therapeutic work with women and LGBTQ clients in private practice, as well as work as a birth and post-partum doula.
