Correction to Podcast: Shaina mistakenly mixed up two separate studies regarding touch and fetal development. The study that discerned fetal touch was Montagu (1978). He showed that a single hair stroke on the fetus, showed that around 8 weeks gestational age, “the first sensitivity to touch manifests in a set of protective movements to avoid a mere hair stroke on the cheek”.
